Welcome

Dear Colleagues,

Over sixty of the leading researchers in the field of the newly emerging tumor suppressor pathway, known as the Hippo pathway, gathered, from allover the world, at the beautiful Villa Betania in Rome for a two day workshop, 22-23 April, 2009. During the course of the workshop, participants heard over 28 presentations and short slide talks covering many of the aspects of the pathway, related to both
oncogenic signalling and apoptotic signalling. Discussions continued during the Gala dinner held in the historical centre of Rome on the evening of the 22nd. The workshop culminated on the second day in a wide-ranging informal question and answer session.

Everyone involved in the workshop thoroughly enjoyed the two days and all agreed that it had been a constructive and indeed significant event. Given its success, the workshop organisers are already looking forward to the next meeeting which will take place sometime in 2010. Watch this space!
